NOTICE
Waste Disposal Site - Hours of Operation
(June 25th, 2008 to September 3rd, 2008)
Commencing Wednesday, June 25th, 2008 the operating hours for the Airy (Whitney) Waste Disposal Site and the Lyell (Madawaska) Waste Disposal Site are as follows:
WEDNESDAYS 4:00 P.M. TO 8:00 P.M.
SATURDAYS 8:00 A.M. TO 12:00 NOON
Residents transporting waste to the landfill sites are encouraged to have their loads secured and covered while on municipal roads and streets.
Household Hazardous Waste Day – Saturday, August 9th, 2008
Proposed Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Parking lot adjacent to the Whitney Fire Hall/EMS Complex on Hay Creek Road, Whitney Ontario

NOTICE
With Respect to Dogs Running At Large:
All dog owners in the Township of South Algonquin are to be advised that the municipality has entered into an agreement with the Township of Bonnechere Valley (Eganville) to house dogs that are caught running at large. It will be the dog owner’s responsibility to pay all labour costs involved in the capture of the dog, penalties, kennel fees and the owner will be required to pick up the animal at Eganville.
If a dog is picked up and is wearing a dog tag issued by the Township of South Algonquin an attempt will be made to contact the owner before it will be transported to the kennel facilities at Bonnechere Valley.
Canada Day Office Hours
The Township of South Algonquin Municipal Office & Works Department Office will be closed to the public on Tuesday, July 1st, 2008 for Canada.
